Wilfred (US) Season 1 Episode 9 : Ryan begins to suspect that his friendship with Wilfred might not be in his best interests. Then he meets a guy (Dwight Yoakam) who confirms the suspicion. Wilfred is troubled by Ryan's tendency to keep to himself ("People are beginning to think you're weird," he tells him), so he sets out to make his human friend more sociable. Of course, Wilfred also has an ulterior motive. Ryan's nutty mother (Mary Steenburgen) moves in with him after spending 20 years in a "wellness center" and bonds with Wilfred instantly, adding fuel to Ryan's already-considerable resentment of her. Previous Episode :Ryan has a guilt complex over the death of his childhood dog, and Wilfred, upon learning of it, goes to otherworldly lengths to help Ryan discover the truth about how the pooch passed on. Meanwhile, Kristen throws a party for her boss (Nestor Carbonell).
